Classic Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

  • 8 ounces (225g) spaghetti
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
  • Grated Parmesan cheese for serving
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • While the spaghetti is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté until golden brown and fragrant, about 2-3 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
  • Once the garlic is golden, add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic-infused oil. Toss the spaghetti to coat it evenly with the oil and garlic.
  • Season the spaghetti with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Adjust the seasoning to your taste preference.
  • Continue tossing the spaghetti over medium heat for another minute or two to ensure the flavors are well combined.
  • Remove the skillet from the heat and transfer the spaghetti to serving plates.
  • Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese generously over the spaghetti.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley for added freshness and color.
  • Serve the Classic Spaghetti Aglio e Olio immediately while it's still warm.
